* Sing For Hope * Sea of Color
This painted piano was for a nonprofit called Sing for Hope that I had the honor of painting.
The organization gathers community artists to paint old pianos to give them new life. The pianos are then placed in a public area, where people are encouraged to play them. After the display, they are moved to their permanent residence in schools and community centers in the area. My design was chosen for the program’s first year running in Newport News, Virginia, and the piece was displayed for a month at Christopher Newport University, where I attended. It was overall a huge honor, and it made me feel like I could really give back to my community in a way I hadn’t thought of before, showing the power of art and music, and how they can bring people together. Additionally, the piano was featured on the cover of the 2025 edition of Currents Literary Magazine.
